Frequently Asked Question

How far will I have to walk?
The speakers and the workshops will all be within 5 blocks.  If you are concerned about walking, please note in the registration that you may/will need a ride, or e-mail elders4theearth@gmail.com.  If walking is difficult, there will be "designated drivers."  If you are staying in the lodge, it is quite a walk, but not impossible to Riveriew Lodge (see parking below.)

Can I bring my dog?
Well ... is your dog well behaved?  If you are renting a cabin or camping in the campground, yes.  If you are renting a lodge room, no, as they do not allow pets.  If you are just registering for the day, we would ask that you not bring your pets.

What clothes should I wear?
Dress casual.  Check the weather forecast for what you may need.  Pack a sweater for inside the buildings as sometimes the air conditioning is set too cool.

Do I need a Nebraska Park Permit?
Yes.  Daily passes are $6.00 and an annual pass is $30.00.  You will need one for all of the time you are in the state park.

Will there be vegan food options?
First of all, the food is excellent and low on the food chain. Yes, every meal will have vegan, vegetarian, and glutten free offerings.

Is there adequate parking?
The parking around the Riverview Lodge, where our main programs will be, is very good.  Some of our workshops will be in nearby buildings, and if parking or walking is a problem, rides will be available.
There is not a lot of parking around the cabins, enough, but not bunches.  The lodge has very adequate parking if you are renting a lodge room.
